No matter what time of
year, it's always a lovely walk within these woods. Naturally,
Spring gives you the most surprises as Oaks, Maples, Dogwood, Sweet
Gum and others begin their transition to summer green. Oaks begin
with bronzey-red opening buds and Maple forming seed clusters of
nearly the same color. Others open with that traditional spring
green. Watch. as you walk, for the bits of color of wild flowers. But
you know that spring, in the south, is here when the Dogwood
displays its showy white.
Summer walks are the cool
green shady strolls of southern literature.

Fall colors abound from
the yellow of the Tulip tree to the reds of Maple and russet of Oaks.
The forest welcomes the fallen leaves that can lie undisturbed
giving a softness to the forest floor.
Winter opens the canopy to
the sky and reveals what has been hidden by the summer green. The
pines persist with their green reminder that all is not asleep. Look
forward to that rare snow and full winter moon to create a sparkling
wonderland.
